Support
Stuck, spotted a bug, or have a feature idea? Here is the fastest way to get help with the DayRecall desktop app and the TabPark browser extension.
Contact
- Bug reports & feature requests (fastest): open an issue on GitHub. Include your app version (for example v1.2.1), Windows version (10/11), and steps to reproduce.
- General questions: message on LinkedIn.
- Quick feedback from the site: use the homepage feedback form — rating plus a short message, no account needed.
- Release emails: use the Notify me form in the download section to get one email per release.
Support is indie and best-effort. GitHub issues with versions + steps get fixed first.
DayRecall app — quick fixes
Windows says “Unknown publisher”. Is that expected?
Yes. DayRecall is unsigned indie software. On the SmartScreen popup click More info → Run anyway. This warning is normal for this installer.
I installed it but nothing opens. Where is it?
DayRecall lives in the system tray. Look for the DayRecall icon next to the clock and double-click it. It can start with Windows from Settings when you choose.
Browser URLs are not tracked. How do I fix it?
No extension is needed — tracking is built in. Check that tracking is not paused in the tray, the browser is not in incognito (unless you allowed it), and the site is not on your Settings blacklist. Supported browsers include Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Firefox, Vivaldi and Arc.
An update fails or the installer says files are locked. What now?
Quit the running tray app first, then run the MSI again. The v1.2.1+ installer stops the tray app automatically. Your database, backups and settings are never touched by upgrades. Prefer in-app flow: Settings → Updates → Download & Install.
How do I pause, export, back up or delete data?
Pause tracking from the system tray, clear any date range, export to CSV, JSON, Markdown or PDF, and restore from timestamped local SQLite backups. Uninstalling or upgrading never deletes your database, backups or settings.
AI chat / digest says Ollama is missing. What do I install?
Install Ollama plus the supported model for local digests, chat, summaries and embeddings. OpenAI is an optional fallback you must explicitly configure — relevant prompts then leave your machine.
TabPark extension — quick fixes
How do I install TabPark?
Chrome Web Store (recommended): open the TabPark listing and click Add to Chrome. If it is still in review, check back shortly. Developers can load unpacked from chrome://extensions with Developer mode on. TabPark works in Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers.
Will it close my pinned or meeting tabs?
No. Pinned tabs are never auto-closed, the active tab is kept during Emergency relief, and Meet/Zoom-style domains are ignored by default.
Snoozed tabs did not reopen. Why?
Snooze uses alarms that need the browser running. If Chrome was fully closed at wake time, the tab reopens next time the browser starts. Keep the extension enabled and check ignored domains in the Dashboard.
Duplicates keep coming back. What helps?
Use the overload audit to park & close by heaviest domain, then save the window as a named session with Park + Close. Back up sessions with Dashboard → Backup JSON; uninstalling the extension removes its local data.
Why does TabPark ask for tabs / bookmarks / alarms?
Each permission has one job: tabs lists/closes tabs you park, storage keeps sessions locally, alarms wakes snoozed tabs, contextMenus adds right-click park, bookmarks only runs when you click Import. All scripts are bundled — no remote code, no tracking servers. Full policy: privacy policy, TabPark section.
